Despite the absolutely torrential and awful weather, Llyn Y Gors has continued to overflow with excitement and entertainment. This week Llyn Y Gors welcomed a whole host of specimen anglers from across the country to take part in the opening of the new specimen lake, The Karpium. Many of them braved the poor weather with winds swirling and rain lashing down. Yet runs were aplenty as the anglers has the enjoyment of great activity on their bite alarms.

Bob Ward lost the first fish of the day unfortunately as the Carp swirled towards the net, however he soon rectified this by landing a gorgeous 19lb 8oz Mirror Carp as he fished alongside his son Marc Ward.

Regular anglers Daffy and Copey also enjoyed the weekend session as their bite alarms had great activity yet no fish on the bank. Quite a few fish were lost in the end as well a whole host of runs that left anglers bemused as to how they didnt catch. All that is certain is that these anglers are gearing up for the next assault on the lake with plenty more action to come from an absolutely incredible lake brimming with 20lb and 30lb Carp.

Recently Llyn Y Gors also welcomed Ultima's pair of Pete Wilson and Andy May. Pete Wilson of Ultima and Smartbait fished the Karpium with his friend Paul Dyer as they landed a 19lb 15oz Mirror Carp and Andy May had a terrific day on the Match Lake. Andy fished in a friendly competition against local and Welsh International angler Paul Jones. Both anglers were superb on the day yet Andy eventually triumphed with an incredible 110lb match net in cold, wet Winter conditions, Carp, Barbel and Bream were in abundance and left Andy May stunned about the quality of Llyn Y Gors and the newly labelled 'Bagging Machine' cant wait for his next visit to Llyn Y Gors.

Elsewhere from the Match Lake the Pleasure Lake is also producing some fantastic fish with Carp feeding enormously and providing great entertainment for anglers whilst Andy Thompson also comfortably banked a 40lb net including 14 Golden Tench which have grown at rapid rates. So despite awful conditions, the fishing at Llyn Y Gors is still as hot as ever, that is if the anglers are brave enough to contest the weather!
