As the weather starts to improve (lol, gales howling as I write this!) many North West Carp regulars will be turning their attentions to foreign pursuits for the year ahead. With this in mind, Tracey and Andy have just been in touch from Etang de Brigueuil with an update on recent events. Tracey explains;“We have been very busy here through the winter months building new swims on 4, 6, and 7 and finishing swim 8 (photos now available on the website). We have decided not to use swim 3 as it was a bit too cramped along that bank so there is no new swim there although we have kept the old numbers to avoid confusion for our regular guests. There is now also a gravel track leading to swim 9 for the vehicle access and it continues up to swim 11 giving dry pedestrian access. So we are ready now to welcome our first guests in the chalet and lakeside this weekend. We did enjoy a good season last year with 370 fish in the 20lb+ range, 110 30's and 25 40's so fingers crossed this year will see even more 40's as the 30's get bigger and hopefully our first 50. We are giving away a free week fishing for the first person to catch a 50, and a very large bottle of champagne! We have been feeding through the winter months when the water temperature was warm enough so we shouldn't have to wait too long for that 50 to come out. ![]() Swim 9 with new track In September we were joined by Dave Benton and Andy Thomas for a week, they fished swims 10 and 11. Many of you will have seen the article in the November Issue of Carp World, but for those of you that didn't there is a copy that you can look at on our website. They have kindly offered to come back again this September to do some teaching weekends that will be very interesting. (dates to be confirmed but we are taking names if any of you are interested). The chalet was booked for 28 weeks last season and we are heading for a similar figure already this year with no weeks left at all in June, July or August and only 1 week left in May. We have changed the interior slightly this year and awaiting a new kitchen to give it a fresher look. So wherever you will be fishing this year, may we wish you all happy holidays and maybe we will see a few of you here bankside too” For more information visit: http://www.french-lake.com |
