Mike Foster has been in touch again, but this time it’s fourteen year old son, Josh, who has been bagging up – with an awesome 32lb 4oz mirror caught off the garden pool!Josh banked the stunning fish at about 12.15pm on Friday 19th October. Mike explains “To say he was happy just does not capture the moment! I had a twenty the evening before so said we would go fishing on the Friday as he was off school. We fished the Garden Pool wall side; I fished the steps and Josh went two benches down from me. He has been fishing with me since he was seven but has only been carping for about two years, and I’m very proud to say it was all his own work. He shouted he had a drop back right to the floor and I said ‘Hit it, its probably a bream’ but it started taking line and I said it looks like your playing your first Capesthorne carp! He played it well and said he was very nervous - little did he know I was praying it would stay on. it rolled close in and I thought my god that’s a lump! I had the net and said to josh the next time it starts coming in, keep it coming even if you have to walk back. He did and she slid over the net. By then he had a bit of an audience, I was so glad to see that fish in the net. I said to josh its over 25 and his face lit up. We weighed it with the help of another member and it went 32lb 4oz. Josh was speechless and I was very proud of him." ![]() More at: www.sotangling.com |
