Hello again everyone,I have had lots of emails from anglers asking to see the picture of the 40lb 5oz common. Well here it is. The chap who caught the fish at 11.55pm last night from peg 24/25 was Chris Bolland from Southport. Chris who is a bricklayer has not fished for a year. He last fished Pendle View over a year ago. Chris said he used a Mainline Active 8 pop up. He was fishing with his son who said he was amazed to see the size of the fish. Chris said the fish gave him quite a fight and said it was in excellent condition. The last big fish Chris caught was in France and this was a 44lb 8oz common. As you know Philip and I went to the fisheries today to congratulate Chris on this great catch. I also have witness statements from six other anglers who witnessed the catch and the weighing; Lee Longton from West Lothian in Scotland said he witnessed the whole thing and said you should have seen the scales - they went round once and carried on to 40lb 5oz! ![]() Chris Bolland with his Pendle 40lb 5oz common Just to make sure that this fish was weighed correctly our staff checked Chris's scales. This is the second over 40lb fish to be caught at Pendle.....lets hope we see more big fish on our banks. best wishes Lin at Pendle View More at: http://www.pendleview.co.uk |
