The latest Stoke-on-Trent Angling Society update reveals that senior officials are in talks with the owners of Trentham Gardens with a view to securing the fishing rights. If successful, not only would the water prove a major asset to the Society’s portfolio of waters, but would offer Society members some fantastic fishing one of the areas oldest lakes.

Originally designed by Capability Brown, the lake is part of a 750-acre site currently undergoing a £100 million regeneration project aimed at creating a unique visitor destination of national significance. The lake itself is extends over a mile in length and contains a good head of mixed species and in recent years has produced carp to over thirty pounds.

The latest update also includes some fantastic catch reports covering action on the Society’s waters up to the close season and also details up and coming stockings for Astbury, Capesthorne, and Redesmere.
