Not far off the date to renew your Environment agency fishing licence, April 1st, Just a timely reminder that the rule as I understand it has now been relaxed slightly for this and the coming years, for those of you who need a concessionary Disabled licence, any one who receives Disability living allowance now qualifies and not just the Blue badge holder, so if this is you don’t be afraid to ask for your concession at the post office. The Yew tree Reservoir saw an upward trend of improved sport last weekend with lots of quality silver fish and some very nice double figure carp being caught. The Vulcan reservoir was much the same story, with small carp and silver fish giving some brisk sport to maggot, caster, pinkies and punch bread. Haydock Park Farm, The lagoon is still a bit slow, but the milder weather will change this, there are lots of good silver fish, tench, bream and carp in this water and worth fishing for. Cow Hay Dam is fishing quite well Hybrids to 4lbs plus, with bream, roach, rudd, perch and carp up into double figures its worth ago this weekend. The fortnightly open match( By The National team). Sunday 25th , February. The match was fished on the Lower pound of the Sankey canal, on pegs 104 to 121. I t fished quite well for the time of year, and the fact that five cormorants had been on the water taking a good many fish, just prior to the match taking place. This is the ninth match in succession without a dry net, so sport has been spread quite even on the canal during this round of winter matches.
