URGENT NOTICE!!
The Sankey brook suffered a fish kill on Sunday 24th, September. Following heavy rain that morning some of the storm over flow culverts discharged in to the water coarse. The fact that the water level was still at its lower summer level the discharge was not sufficiently diluted in the volume of water both in the brook and in the offending pipes thus pollution and fish mortality.

If you see any kind of discharge coming from pipes or culverts along the brook please contact the Environment agency on 08708-506-506, and give them the location of the pollution, it could save the fish stocks and the lives of many small mammals that live on the brook.

The Labour club cup, Sunday 1-1-06,Sponsored by RWW Plasterers Haydock.

The rain first thing that morning didn’t help the anglers, who took part, sport was a bit slow getting into the match. This didn’t deter National team captain Mark Brown as he caught carp, tench, roach and Ide’s weighing in at 14lbs-8ozs-0drms on pole from peg 138 on the Lower Pound. Second place went to Dave Leyland on peg 136, with carp and tench on pole for 12-0-0. Third place was Mick Rogers on peg 130, with carp, tench and bream for 7-7-0.
