A four night session on a 15 syndicate lake was just what the doctor ordered for North West Carp owner Julian Grattidge. Having only managed short day sessions since the arrival of his first born earlier in the year, Julian got his first proper session in since last September! It was well worth the wait though, as once Julian had remembered how to put the Titan up, he went on to bank mirrors of 33lb 4oz, 27lb 14oz, 27lb, 26lb 6oz, and 21lb, along with commons of; 30lb 8oz, 26lb, and 14lb! All the fish fell to MB Baits Snail & Shell, bar two of the upper twenties which fell to a new bait Mick is working on. ![]() Julian Grattidge with a 33lb 4oz mirror The water was heavily weeded and in many areas was up to the surface in around ten feet of water so finding the clear spots was key. A scattered bait approach did the business and AnglersNet.co.uk boss Elton Murphy, who also bagged three fish on the Snail & Shell, was on hand to take photos. ![]() and again with a 30lb 8oz mirror Julian explained “The trip was one of those that came right out of the blue, and as soon as I knew I was going everything just fell into place. All the omens were pointing towards a good session and we weren’t disappointed. I worked on a few new bits and pieces in preparation for our Birch Grove trip so hopefully I’ll be able to transfer some of the same good fortune onto Birch next week!” |
