Hello everyone,Hope you are all well. Well it feels like Autumn has arrived very early. Lets hope not and this is just a blip. We do seem to have had a funny old year weather wise. We had a bitterly cold March with strong winds, a boiling June and July, and then a rapid change of temperature in August. I wonder what the rest of the year will throw at us. I have been reading all the reports from other fisheries and I think everyone has had quite an up and down year "fish" wise. Here is the fishing report for last week.Main Lake (Carp) Just to confirm that the biggest fish caught this year SO FAR is a 37lb 2oz. I sent you all a photograph of that fish last week. Source boilies and maple 8 were the most successful baits last week. The following carp were reported caught. 15lb 4oz mirror , 23lb 2oz common, 29lb 2oz common, 10lb 3oz common, 14lb 2oz mirror, 9lb common, 12lb common, 16lb 4oz common, 13lb 8oz common, 8lb common, 15lb mirror, 12lb 8oz common, 25lb linear or leather (we are not sure - it only had two scales on it). Chris Thompson caught the 25lb linear or leather from the dam wall and Mr. Getley from Yorkshire caught the 29lb 2oz common. I had a nice email from Bernard and Lewis Anderson last week. They did a 48 hr session with us. Bernard emailed me saying thanks for a great time at Pendle View. Bernard said that Ryan had given him some very valuable advice on baits/swims etc and as a result he landed nine carp including one of our massive commons (which sadly he lost at the net........) This week I have photographed a copy of a nice catch caught by a seven year old angler called Matthew. Matthew was as proud as punch when he landed this 16lb 4oz common on the 8th August. Well done Matthew. Come on all you carp anglers I am really looking forward to reporting a 40lb plus fish being caught ......................I have a hunch that we will see something of that ilk in the next month or so. Main Lake (Pleasure) Some good bags recorded well into the 40lb plus. Steve Marshall from Formy fished with us for the first time on Monday and had a brilliant day. Steve fished from the dam wall and had a 43lb bag of fish using maggot. Steve said he fishes all over and had just heard about Pendle View. He said he will be back for another session soon, just as soon as he can get another days holiday from work. Its been really nice seeing so many dads bring their kids fishing. Our bailiffs are always on hand to give some useful tips and hints - all you have to do is ask them. Ryan our fisheries superintendent spent one of his rest days fishing our main lake last week and caught a 125lb of fish. Ryan said he caught some beautiful healthy stock and was really pleased with his results. Match and Pleasure Lake Again some very good results. Daniel Wilson from Accrington brought along three mates from work for a friendly match on Tuesday. They all had a great day and reported that they had 20 - 30lb bags each. Adrian Welsh and Tom Goodier from Nelson also had a great day on Thursday. They both reported good bags of assorted fish. FLY LAKE Fishing has been hard again, but things are getting better as the temperatures drop. We have been trying to remove all the canadian weed from the fly lake over the last week. There has been quite a lot of it this year do to the unusually high temperatures. Here are the averages for the week: Monday 1.6 Tuesday 1.5 Wednesday 2.2 Thursday 2.6 Friday 1.8 Saturday 2.6 Sunday 3.3 Black sedge dry, hares ears, and buzzers have been working the best. Well I think thats all my news for now. Hope to see you on the banks. best wishes Lin at Pendle View |
