The carp fishing has been good to say the least this week! There have been many happy anglers at Llyn y Gors, with numerous twenties thrown in.

Gary Wright fished the old carp lake and took nine carp in just 48-hours topped by a mirror of 19lb 12oz, he took the fish from both marginal weed beds and the reed islands on a wide variety of baits - well done that man!

Not one to be beaten was Ian ‘Slim’ Lockhart, who managed a lovely 22lb common, which was his first carp from Thompson’s Pool. Ian, a campsite resident took the stunner on Solar Boilies fishing the ‘Double Bay’.

Thompson’s Pool also proved successful for Jason Payne and Paul Rutter. Jason fished ‘The Well’ swim, and took a stunning 22lb Mirror on Heathrow Baits’ Red Indian Boilies. Paul Rutter also managed a good reward for his efforts in the shape of a 25lb lump of a mirror.

Not to be outdone, Bob ward also managed two fish from ‘The Nightmare’; he took an 18lb Common and a 19lb Mirror on CSL pop up’s by Smart Baits.

The first catfish of the year have also been out. Phil Dawson fished the Old Carp Lake and took two specimens, one going over 18lb!
