Default Watching the weather, whats the point ?

Ive looked at metcheck for Knutsford for the w/end, the naff weather aint arriving till next week, it says sunny with a bit of rain over saturday.
The loacal paper says the storms and gales arent here till monday, and the radio says all hell is gonna break loose later on today, what the clucking bell is going on, with the billions of £££££ spent on satalites and research !
Last week I looked at metcheck, everyday last week for Hereford, ready for the w/end, no mention of gales, just nice sunny weather with reasonable temperatures, the paper and local radio said gales and rain for friday only, pretty good after that.... it was like a huicane for 3 whole days, they were all wrong, the week before was nowt like they said either
Anyone else feel its a waste of time, I never watch the weather in summer and just take it as it comes, but do like to keep an eye on it over the winter, but it seem s a waste of time

I really only trust the forecast for Metcheck for the weather for the next day. Anything else and its like rolling a dice.

All i know is there is a freezing cold atrong biting wind out there at the moment which in my experience is not very conducive to putting the carp on the feed .

Weather men couldn't forecsast a sunrise

Know what you mean Hotshot.

Planning a trip myself at the weekend so have been keeping an eye, though all seem to say different things on most occasions!

It's only gales that I tend to take notice of, anything else I can happily take. Bad weather on the bank will always be better than good weather indoors!

weather.co.uk - Index has always served me well, but even that has had a few dibbies over the last year where it's been totally wrong.

It's giving 20+mph winds for the day and 12+ for the night where I'll be fishing - and as I won't even be getting there until after 8pm once I've bathed the kids and put them to bed, I'll not be too worried with that!

Im happy to fish in any conditions and I mean any, BUT some waters respond better to certain condtions than others, hence why I like to have an idea so I can make my choice of venue. Bloody weather

I check uk.weather.com and metcheck.com every morning when i get to work to see where i will be fishing that night and to see where i think the fish will be.

The thing is though, ive know them both to be totally wrong, but the best way to find out what the weather is doing is get out there and see for yourself. But i know what people mean when they say that they like to plan their 'limited' time around the weather.

I'm a big fan of Metcheck and have found it to be very reliable.

However, (I think) recent weather patterns have been related to Atlantic storm systems. A coule of them bumped have into each other over the UK recently and (according to Metcheck) a whopper is due to land on us early next week and blow seven bells out of us all.

I would suppose that weather forecasters sometimes struggle with accuracy when dealing with such powerful weather systems? Surely there must be more accuracy when predicting the influence of more mundane and routine weather systems? Maybe this is why some have fallen foul of misleading forecasts in recent days?

Mike.
