Default Quick Sale water park advice!

Having discovered I have every thursday night to go fishing for the next 6 months, I'm debating whether to get a ticket for Sale as it's close enough for 'quick' (don't start) overnighters.

I'm going for a little look around later this week, but I'll try and avoid Dennis...

All I'm asking is what's the best way (and don't say' car') to get there?

I.E where do I turn off etc?

I'll be going from M60 Ashton Under-Lyne.

Thanks in advance

shallowman

You've learnt the most important lesson I see...

M60 past Stockport (clockwise/anti?!) and you'll see the turn off signposted Sale, literally take this, right at the roundabout, under the M Way and the brown signs will do the rest.

If you go t'other way round the M60,ie over Barton Bridge, again you'll see signs for Sale exit, down the slip road and first left at the bottom.

from weatherfield

go down rossamond st and turn right at the red wreck, keep going till you see the m602 sign posted join the m602 and follow the signs for m60 west or trafford centre keep going to you see the sale exit get off here and just follow the brown signs.

alternatively pop in to roys rolls and i will draw you a map of the lake and its depths features and where the big common and grey one are most likely to get caught.

You see, I knew I'd get some flak for this:

Careful Roy, or I'll set that bad boy David on ya!

If you have every thursday night free to fish you can always ask dennis to fish the bailiffs swim and have his company for the night (AGGGGGGGHH!!!!)
I'll be getting my ticket soon so might see you on there .I'll be th eone fishing as far as possible from the bailiffs hut LOL!!!!

Hi all

Is Sale water park still day ticket? I will have a few spare hours in the evening so thinking of doing a couple of hours on there during the week. I have not fished the place for over 10 years.

A pouchfull of peanuts close in used to be the going method back then in the early evening. Any advice on tactics and where to start in terms of swims would really help.

I can only just remember how to get there.

Kev

I think you can only day-ticket on the Motorway bank but in not 100% sure, and avoid Dennis like the plague.

Most baits will work on there, more about location, location, location.

To get a full year ticket you see the Bailiff on the bank or in his igloo!

I think if i remember rightly it's about £48 or there about.

Wink

I was down at the water park last night, just went for a walk and you could see the fish crashing out. in freezing temps!!

Just open your eyes and you will find them.

Dont go hiding in a bivvy all day. watch the water and you will find the fish.

The rest is up to you mate
