Link to Post - Back to Top 80.5.160.6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- andy NMFF Super Poster foolish man from what i get told some off the regs reackon two tone has a bigger northern brother im writeing off to bens dad to get some serious ass kissing done an get a place quite a few big big 30+ fish from what i hear Link to Post - Back to Top 213.106.215.5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- joephus NMFF Regular Around that time there was a fish of 47lb, the slate grey. There were also rumours (as there always are) of a much bigger fish. Although this fish was ment to be 50lb + Think there are still some rather large fish in there but alot of the 'originals' have died or so i have heard anyway. Link to Post - Back to Top 213.121.151.194 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- boxer NMFF Super Poster ive still got all the old cuttings out of issue 2 and 3 carp talk about the place and other magazines Link to Post - Back to Top 80.5.160.6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- marker NMFF Super Poster a few years ago i saw a slide show by john seal at one of the regional carp meetings that went on every winter, some belting fish in there for sure, i think the slate grey is still the biggest at around 42lb or it was a few years ago anyway unfortunately the lake fell into private hands, rumour has it martin edwards son owns it now and the syndicate only has access to a small section of bank due to the price and severe bankside restrictions i've never bothered putting my name down myself Link to Post - Back to Top 80.5.160.6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- andy NMFF Super Poster 350 a year aint nothin to fish for them beutiful true english and northern fish.edwards son only owns the road bank.the only thing stoppin me gettin in is i havnt wrote off yet plus hopefully gonna catch paw print from wyre first or da long common Link to Post - Back to Top 213.106.215.4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- joephus NMFF Regular British fish but not northern mate! The slate grey and the biggies that were in there were wellington park stockies. Slate grey went in at around 27lb as i have heard. Not sure but think it has been stocked again since. Not sure its just a case of writting him a letter, unless you know him. J-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ianb NMFF Super Poster Has any one told the carp their not northen? Hope they are not suffering any racial abuse in there LOL. Link to Post - Back to Top 86.10.130.12 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- joephus NMFF Regular Am not bothered really, English is enough dont think we should start getting overally regional about where are carp are from. But was just making a point. Some people are very perticular about claiming Northern carp. Were as these were stocked at a pritty big weight from another southern water.... Link to Post - Back to Top 213.121.151.194 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- coffindodger NMFF Regular hi Joe I have to beg to differ on them being northern mate saw my mate Steve smiths true cheshire record fish at 43lb+ being betten within a week by the duke from farwood that fish for me will never represent the true cheshire record nor will the slate grey if it ever dose beat the 43.12 that came from marley in my opinion Link to Post - Back to Top 84.67.159.60 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- joephus NMFF Regular Is the marley fish still about? It is very different for some anglers and i do class northern fish (grown up here) differently but will happily fish for southern fish as well. When it comes to regional records then no the farmwood fish arent true northern records. Link to Post - Back to Top 213.121.151.194 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- andy NMFF Super Poster does anybody know where these welly fish come from bein as steve renyard was talkin bout removin fish into the lake next door to welly Link to Post - Back to Top 213.106.215.4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- coffindodger NMFF Regular Yes mate the marley fish is still alive and well last time out at 37ish as it sucsessfully got rid of the massive amount of spawn it was carrying at the time when smithy had it sadley that cannot be said about the Duke as it died a few weeks after it was caught at the cheshire record (not) at 46+ that one never did manage to shead its spawn
