Any one fished golden dale, just off the A500 close to sandyford tunstall. I've heard there is a 30 plus a number of twenty's. Had a good look around but looks a bit rough, partic with regard to parking the car. Some one told me that you can park at the farm for a few £ but not sure where I heard this. Info anyone

I haven't fished it before but i know of a few people that have done in the past. With regards to the fish stocks, there is a 30lb + common in there but i don't think there are many 20's or come to think of it many carp that swim about in it. I can remember reading an article written by tim childs in crafty carper a year of two ago and he was saying that there wasn't many fish in there and that the only one really worth catching was the big common. I'll have to have a dig around to see if i can find it for you.
I think a bit rough is an understatement, lol. When i had a wander round earlier on this year there were a few burnt out cars, loads and loads of rubbish, and quite a few pot heads fishing for pike. Not surprisingly its not my type of water, but i can see with a big common like that in there why some people might have a go for it.

last time i was up there 3 gypos were trying to have a young lads rods away.My mate who is 6ft 9 tall and an ex street fighter from the east end met is match agaisnt them.I would not bother with the place.
As for the gypos we have since found out that they do plenty of boxing and kick boxing in tunstall and we do know them now,but would not trust them.
Just be carefull up there, but this could be just a one off cus he was a young lad who they tried to have.

It isn't good at all when you have to keep looking behind your back whilst at fishing. You should be able to enjoy yourself where ever you go, but on pools like that you can't. Also With goldendale its another case of if the venue would have been in another location then it would be fine.

now i dont know how many of you guys have heard of a place called the burly??? its a very small water that used to be full of weed (choka) no one could fish it , there were 12 carp in there all 20's with one @ 36lb italian strain , anyway cut a long story short , this fish was moved and placed into goldendale , this i would not have belived unless an old mate of mine hadnt confirmed it . So on that note its possible 2 30;s live in there. once again i must state a reliable source informed me . Would like to see the big girl one more time as its bin 5 years since she was moved. H As anyone else spotted her ?? o bythe way my sig pic is from the burly 20 on the nose not huge but an old warrior !

i spent some time down there pre baiting and up the tree's spotting in September last year, and on the hot days, the same fish were just were there...couldn't rule out that rumour. But if it was there, i suppose you would see it..as the common is un missable
i know my mate..had a upper twenty a couple of years ago, which later didn't make it through the winter and was found washed up dead..shame.

Had a walk round there today. . . . don't think I could
ever bring meself to fish there - as much as I'd like to
catch that common.
Couple fishing. . . still a bit of ice up the wider end. . . .
and another car burn't out, obscuring one swim. . .
I suppose its company for the two that made it in!!
Good luck to all that fish there.

i know mate...its pretty disgusting ins't it(litter wise). I did mention it to Middleport about getting hold of the water and running it simlar to Westport. But the guy who owns the water isn't interested in leasing it(he's waiting for the lad to be bought).
Shame really, as that fish is a cracker..

Hi guys, i live just up the road from goldendale, trust me dont night fish it, later on in the day you get loads of idiots down there shooting air rifles and when they go home you have to put up with the drunken chavs who fish there. I have fished it in the daytime and had no trouble other than getting snagged up (stupid car ariels ) lol. oh and its weedy and there only 2 good pegs, i have seen some nice sized kippers showing ontop first thing in the morning, ied give it a miss a go down to wessy. can any one tell me is that as bad as it used to be at night ??
