Bl**dy H*ll thats a bit drastic. Can't see why so many waters are being turned over to the birds at one time and in one area. There has got to be more than meets the eye here. Were they club waters and if so what are they dong about it

Not sure about Rainford's but Greenwaters and Blackwaters used to be P&K (Pearson and Knowles) fishing club, same as Scotsmans, Pearsons and Waddicors. None of these waters have been controlled effectively for a long time, have fished them on and off for 25 yrs plus and never had a licence or been asked for one since I was a kid, don't know if this is the same for you Snagmaster?

Thought Weedy was Wigan AA (Bryn Flash)? Some decent carp showing there again now following the kill a few years back. Again, the water has never been controlled adequately and has a litter problem mainly from kids fishing the nights but this doesn't do anglers any favours. Haven't had a Wigan card for years, wasn't the most active club and lost a few waters and I'm ashamed to admit it but I fished the Weedy without a licence regularly, and wasn't the only one. Wigan AA had a crazy rule that most waters could be fished on a day ticket, purchased on the bank, so everyone took the chance and got away with it.

There are more twitchers to be seen on these waters than anglers and without a controlling club with enough active members will be difficult to voice objection and prevent losing the fishing, may be too little too late
