Hi all. I'm new to this forum and just thought id ask if anyone has fished or knows much about Boundary water park. I'm thinking of giving it a go this year. Cheers.

Hi blue,
Boundary water park is one of the most difficult waters i've been on!! You can fish it on day ticket £10 for 24 hrs or get a season ticket for around £90 i think. The lake is also shared by a few clubs. I believe thers somewhere in the region of 60 carp in around 10-11 acres of water, The swims on the opposite side to the site entrance are probably the most productive and therefore are full most of the time in summer. There a lot of features, bars and plateaus, weedbeds and gravel patches, so it pays to find these. Most people bait quite heavily but a single hookbait can also produce especially when cast at showing fish. It can take a while to get to grips with the place but there are some nice fish to go for. A friend of mine has had a few out to around 28lb,I'll try and get some pics and put them up for you. I hope ur patient as blanking is par for the course. Spoke to 1 bloke who hadn't had a fish in 6 seasons Told him to take up golf lol

Cheers gazza. Ive spoke to a couple of people on there last year who say much the same as you. I'm amazed it gets so busy on there considering its supposed to be so tricky. Its a toss up between Boundary or Shackerely Mere across the motorway, hmmm!

i had a dabble in there for a while but only had bream!, didn't relize it had that many fish, i got told there was only about 12 fish but biggies up around 28. was busy tho.

Yep i only caught bream, it amazes me how many people stay on there not catching, as for the numbers of carp i could be wrong but i'm sure theres more a dozen. Theres a good stock of pike in there though upto 20+lb

Last time i went there it was busy with Pike Anglers. Apparantly theres alot more pike than carp.

i've fished it a couple of times. always been on the fish (there're not hard to find in summer) but never hooked one. I have touched one though. it was just sittin there in the pads. i walked out a bit to bait up and spotted it under my feet. i reached down and touched its tail as it shot off covering me in a spray of water.
I've spent a bit more time on shakely mere across the motorway. Much easier water although it was closed a bit bak when that disese struff the area last year, not sure if any died. if you want info on shakely, pm me

My mate did a 24 hr session on Boundary in 2004 and had a 20lb mirror, and that was his first session He's always been a lucky so and so Mind you he did say the fish was a bit battered

evening all
at alst min i was invited by a mate on new years eve to fish it , so in my wisdom and no knowlage of the water of i went to haul them in............ not a sniff!
the little info i know is a few of the other boys on that nite said a 33lb came out in october and up intill then nothing else had come out. didnt speak to the captor but they did point him out sneakin amoungst the trees on the far back........

It is rock hard on there I've fished it a couple of times and not had a sniff and I've got a couple of mates who have done a few 48hr sessions on there and not had a sniff either
Rock hard
Watch out for the doggers in the lane behind as well
oh and it's rumoured to have a few ghosts
I had a very strange experience on there last time I did a night

I'm not trying to put anybody off
I'm just telling it how it is
It has got some good points
If you get on one of the swims behind the lane you can just unload you gear from the car straight into your swim
And it has got some cracking fish in there as well
I've just not managed to get one out yet

Fished boundary last year quite a few times, there are sum really nice fish in there, had 3 takes for all my efforts lost 2 an the one i landed went 27lb 2oz. If i could give you any advice it would be to avoid spoddin cos every time i tryed it it failed as it did for a lot ov others, the only method i had action off was using boilies an lots ov em, and its deffo betta if you can do 2 or more nites at a time failin that use washed out baits cos im sure they see that much ov the stuff they just leave it for a few days b4 they see it as safe. Oh an mid week is deffo best cos theres hardly any one else on.

I had sunk a few Stella's to keep out the cold but not had a whiff of a Bob Marley cigarette all night
Anyroad in the middle of the night I woke up and thought I saw somebody go past the door of my bivvy
Nodded off again and next time I came round some ****er was stood there in the doorway
So I shouted out who is is it like what do you want and all that and the figure moved away
I bailed out of the bivvy ...bankstick in hand, ready for a rumble and nothing not a soul
Checked on my 2 pals in the next swims thinking they were trying to get me going like and not a peep
Had a good look all around and nothing vanished without a trace
What do you make of that then

Easy that mate...weighing up your last post about doggers it was obviously one of them paying you a visit... LOL
The fact that they dissapeared so rapidly also points at a dogger, Must have been frightened when you weilded that bankstick...they might be up for a bit of bondage but thats going way to far LOLOL

Cheers everyone for the comments. Looking at whats been said about the water Ive come to the conclusion that i wont really catch much, I'll probably see some sort of a ghost or something, and run the risk of being attacked by a pervert! Roll on the weekend!

LOL Been caught again

It could have been a ghost or one of these doggers but its more likely to have been some thieving get trying to nab your stuff and you luckily surprised them so they did one.

i have a friend who has spent a lot of time on the water. It took a while and a lot of blanking sessions but then he finally got into knowing how to catch the illusive carp pretty much every sesh he went there. His biggest was 28.9 but most was around the low 20 bracket. He differed from one of the earlier post saying spodding never worked. He used to tell me that if you parked in the car park near the shop and walked up to the water and fished the bay on the left. There is a spot there that if you fill it full of hemp and tigers, (they may not be allowed so I wont mention his name) he would guarantee a fish.

Anyway back to the thieving.... he now never goes there anymore as he started to hear people were getting equipment nicked in the night and then it finally happened to him. He lost his landing net, un-hooking mat and a few other items left outside the bivey.........

just got back from a 24hour on boundary, had a screamer, pulled into a half decent weight only to find it was a 5lb bream stuck in weed! thursday just gone a lad had 2 in a day session out of the bay thats now full of weed up to 27lb. speaking to the owner, he says he`s seen a 36 come out, didnt spot any doggers tho... could have done with some entertainment to break up the night!

Didnt a 34 come out last year and they had the photo up in the shop. I wouldnt be to quick to dismiss that a 36 is in Boundry.

The biggest fish in boundary is known as half tail and came out at 31 lb last year, thats the picture up in the shop. Its taken a long time to break the thirty barrier so cant imagine it goin much bigger in the near future.

Thats what I heard to about Boundary. However, in the short space of time I fished their I was told so many different conflicting stories about the place, I didn't know what to believe in the end. It didn't necessarily put me off fishing the place, as I did come to my own conclusion that it wasn't an easy water and the stock is relatively low compared to it's size. Going off the pictures in the shop though there's some cracking fish in there if you decide to fish the place seriously and put the time and effort in.
