Default Day Ticket Venues North West

Please dont reply to this thread unless it is to add a day ticket venue

it makes the thread cluttered and it loses some of its usefulness

thanks

I thought it would be useful if the site had a list with some day ticket venues in the Northwest area with general information.

I have started a list below with a few i know

Please add the waters you know with all the information layed out as below

Lake name -
Directions –
Contact Neil –
Night Fishing Allowed or not
Class –
Stock –
Rods –
Prices -
General details

Or if you know of any details i have missed please PM me and i will update

Belmont fisheries – Belmont Bolton, Edgerton Road
Directions – Head into Belmont through Bolton and when you pass a Italian pub take your next right and then the opening to the fisheries is on the first left turning keep driving right to the top and park your car there.
Contact Neil – 07990514650 must ring first to book pegs
Night Fishing Allowed
Class – Easy
Stock – Carp to around 25
Rods – 2 rod rule but if not busy they don’t usually mind
Prices - £25 for 2 nights
Two lakes one carp one course the carp lake is the furthest or the two and you can drive to most pegs, it’s a small lake of around 1 acre in size with a small island and 5 pegs big enough for a 2 man bivvy in each, the island regular produces some good catches. Pegs 1 and 2 is a double peg Cast to the left of no 1 to the reeds and don’t be afraid of trying different baits, boilies don’t seem to be a no 1 bait at the moment luncheon meat is producing as well as maize stacks on the hair so try some thing different and you should be into a carp. Due to the size of the lake its good for stalking and if you are feeling stealthy have a climb to the back of the island and have a go at stalking a carp out try worms. Over all it’s a good lake set out nicely with the peace and quiet that you would expect from a carp fishery.

Dixon Green – Farnworth, Bolton Manchester
Directions – Top of St Germain Street are steeps go up and you are on the lake
Contact – Farnworth Angling Club – day tickets on bank
No Night fishing
Class – Easy
Stock - carp to over 20lb
Rods – 2 rod rule
Prices – £2 per day
This lake is often overlooked due to its location, it’s not in the nicest areas to say he least in fact it’s in the middle of a council estate but its not really known for a lot of trouble, the lake is around a acre and a half approximately and contains some real nice carp many of these are taken on boilies even though they are banned on the lake all the local carpers use them. Carp are often caught from under your feet cast tight to the reeds and when you first walk on the lake the corner to the right has a pole sticking up that regularly produces carp, following the wind on this lake also seems to work well and I have known some anglers to catch well after pre baiting.

Sale Water Park – Sale Manchester
Directions – Just of M60
Contact –
Night fishing
Class – Moderate too hard
Stock – 30 + big cats
Rods – 3 rods
Prices – around £15 per night and £50 per year
This is a large boating lake with a good stock of carp and some big cats, the carp go to 30 + and the cats I am not sure of the sizes, this is a good size lake with a large stock of carp, location is vital on this lake and if you know or you can locate the carp you should not have a problem, because of the lakes size bait boats come in handy and with a marker you should find it easy to find some underwater features weed beds gravel ect, Boilies are the most used bait for the carp and big halibuts for those cats, overall a good water not so easy at times but the rewards are there if you are prepared to make the effort.

White heads – Radcliffe Bury
Directions hard to find
Contact –
Night fishing allowed
Class – moderate
Stock - carp over 20lb
Rods – 3
Prices – about £10 a night
This is a nice lake set a short walk from the car park it’s a long shaped lake in total around 1 ½ acres of water but its long so looks bigger, a small island towards the bottom end, a lot of anglers cast over to the far bank and then place the bait out in the margins on the far bank and throw some bait over the area this works well try sliding back leads down the line from the far bank and the put the rig in and when you get back to your rods pin it down there as well this has worked well with anglers in the past. The fish in this lake are nice old fish so most are of a good quality so it’s defiantly worth a look.

Pennington Flash – Leigh
Directions opposite Leigh fire station
Contact –
Night fishing Unknown
Class – Hard
Stock – Carp present unknown sizes
Rods – unknown
Prices – unknown
?
This is a lovely water in parts if you put a lot of effort in the results are there but the work has to be put in to get the results the lake is 70 hecares in size set in a 200 hectare country park if you are temped to give it ago you will more than likely to be on your own as there are not many that fish the place, have a walk round several times before you even think about wetting a line and try to locate the fish as this is crucial on a water of this size.

Wyre side – Garstang
Directions – Can’t remember
Contact –
Night fishing allowed
Class – easy
Stock – carp 20 +
Rods – 3 rods
Prices – approximately £25 per night
Size couple of acres strange shape, I am not keen on this water as I had a go once and it’s always very busy and there is not enough casting space, the venue is nice but to over crowded for me. No doubt some good fish and heavily stocked if you are having a go at it use shell fish b5 boilies as I hear on the grapevine the owners feed the fish up on these.

Homefarm – Alsager
Directions to be confirmed
Contact -
Class – easy / runs water
Night fishing allowed
Class Easy
Stock couple at 20 +
Rods 3
Prices - approx £25 per 24 hours £15 pr day
Size few acres in size good stock of fish, yet again another water with little casting space but lots of features pads reeds island ect. This is a nice water looks like a garden pond on steroids, its good but a little small ideal for a quick night and a couple of fish not the type of water you would concentrate on but ideal for a few fish. Boilies and Halibuts seem to work well and pva bags are all you need leave the marker and spod at home. Cats to 31lb

Wyre side – Lancaster
Directions of the m6 signposted behind Forton services Lancaster
Contact –
Class different waters differ
Night fishing allowed
Rods
For further details see there website
Waters for all – Good variety of lakes stocked with all different size carp
See website defiantly worth a look

Clifton Marina / Manchester Park lake
Directions - clifton Manchester
Contact
Class - moderate
Night fishing allowed
Rods - 2
Clifton Marina / Manchester park lake is one of the few or only day ticket waters in the northwest that you have the chance of catching a 40+lb fish, a cracking place with some real beuts to catch its not a easy water by a long way but like any the rewards are there if the effort is put in. Clifton is the home of the northwests Mr Angry at 40+ and several 30 + carp inclusing wallnut now around 37lb, peter perfect now around 35+lb alot of big fish to go at.

Roman Lakes Marple.

6 acres. Fishing from one side of lake only, three islands and far bank features. Shallow with average depths 3 -4 feet. Also has back waters (Canal like) which hold a lot of carp.

Large stock of doubles with some twenties. Mostly old dark mirrors.

Easy - Moderate depends on conditions.

From Marple train station go up the hill and turn first left. About 200 yards on left youll see a left turn signed for the lakes follow the bumpy road down and keep going righ Until you hit the lakes.

Price around £6 a rod but im out of date!
No Night fishing. Opens @ 8am till dusk.
Cafe and toilets on site

Winterley Pool. Wheelock, near sandbach cheshire.
6-8 acre lake in two halves, seperated by island chanels.
About 4 feet deep at best, snag margins 2 feet.
Plagued by large swan population, at least 50 of them! They will eat every bait thrown into less than 3 feet of water.

Fishing from one side only. Casting to snags/ bushes on the "Island" 40 -60yards away. Stocked with doubles and the odd twenty. Upper 20,s claimed??
Also a seperate "Match lake" of 2 -3 acres, from memory it is a lake surrounding a large island area with short casts of 20 yards to the island. Stocked with carp mainly doubles.

Moderate rating. Was £!5 for 24 hours?

From J17 M6, follow wheelock signs. Lake fronts onto the main road.

Toilet in farm yard last time I went, (5 years ago)

Bradshaw Hall Fisheries Bolton ,Lancashire
Locasted in bradshaw Bolton
Mixed species
telephone 01204,307197
2 rods
£11 day ticket
No night fishing
Its got 9 lakes if i am not wrong and each lake contains different fish, the lakes sees alot of preasure and alot of inexperienced anglers, But that a side if you are looking for a day out to take the kids with float rods or poles / whips this is a good place to go, the carp are not big but its rammed with small ones No 4 is the ideal choice for a bend in the rod with paste being a good bait as well luncheon meat.

Shakerley Mere
Nr Middlewich
Day Ticket or lymm anglers day fishing
Nights only to lymm anglers
Moderate
17 Acres with two islands 1 side is out of bounds and the other you can fish, this is a lovely water with some real cracking fish present estimated around 500 carp present apparently to 30lb, lots of 20's to go at good pegs are peg 50 and 1 - 5 these seem to be the most productive of pegs, beware the lake is hammered with swans and if you have a go i am sure you will get some greef of the feathered freinds , most tactics work, boilies work well with a small bed of boilies or if you risk it particles work well but if you dont want to feed the swans try boilies but they do like a boilie be warmed and good luck.

General Information
Teggs Nose Reservoir is Waltonians largest water at 7 arces, a deep reservoir providing great all round fishing throughout the year in an idyllic setting. Steep banking sides give Teggs Nose deep margins with few snags. Clear banks and marked pegs all round the water give the angler access to the whole water. Parking is available in the adjacent car park only and NOT on the road or overflow.

Known Species
Teggs Nose holds a large stock of fish from most common species in particular a large head of Mirror and Common carp (between 5lb - 25lb) and a large number of mature bream (3lb - 6lb) and smaller silver fish.

Special Conditions
Fishing is from dawn till 1 hour after dusk with NO Night Fishing allowed. The water is open to members and Day ticket holders only. Day tickets are available from Barlows Tackle, Bond Street, Macclesfield, Hazel Grove Tackle, Stockport and Daves of Middlewich (£6.00 for 2 rods and £9.00 for 3 rods)

Directions
Follow the (A536) through Macclesfield towards Congleton. Turn left over the railway bridge and follow Byrons Lane up the hill. Take the left hand fork up Jarman continue round onto Langley Road and follow it up into the village. Take the left hand turn at the church onto Langley Main Road and next left onto Coalpit Lane up to the reservoir. Plenty of parking is available at the far end of the dam head.

Bickershaw higher hall flash
leigh
night fishing allowed (sydicate members only)
class-easy/med

stock-dozen 20s to 25 plus lots of high doubles

The main lake is about 5 acers which is reed lines on most sides with a depth of about 5-7 feet. most of the fishing on here is open water fishing so it just a case of finding the right distance from the bank to fish at.There is also a stock pond which can also so be fished on a day ticket witha one rod limit the water is full of small carp from 5lb -12lb this can be a mega runs water on the right day. The non members car park is the large one at the top of the hill over looking the lakes. The members lake is located at the bottom near the lake to get a key to the gate you must be a member of leighAA.
