Alright Phil,

I've had a few descent days on the bridgie at Lodge Lane (On the road between Runcorn and Northwich) Its about a mile hike though to the marshes. Its a bit sketchy.

Another good area is just outside preston brook marina!!!

Down behind the old number 3 pub comming from Lymm go past the old number 3 then take you next road on the left by the beefeater restaurant place follow road down until you come to a left turn go down there under the canal then turn left park right next to canal seen a bloke get some fair sized kippers from that stretch a couple of yeras ago.Only problem is it is a Warrington AA stretch and is bailiffed fairly well so there is a real chance you will get asked to produce your membership card .

Different canal but the Leeds-Liverpool around Ormskirk has some decent fish, is regularly fished around the Saracen's Head. Is on Wigan AA but can be fished on day ticket, avoid the weekend if poss.

A "reliable" source has had fish to low twenty, mid-to upper doubles more common though.

hi there

the bridgie and the trent suffered heavily in last years fish deaths. i live close to the canal and walk it most days with the dog .the fish spawn each year on this stretch .but this year ive seen none at all while a close by lake the water is been thrashed to a foam. when this happened last year myself and a mate walked from the barge in runcorn to the motorway bridge (m56) and we counted 155 dead carp and there most of been loads we missed because of lilles and stuff

to be honest i wont be bothering fishing it again because here in runcorn it seems they just aint there anymore !!!

bye for now !!!

Phil
There is a stretch that runs at the back of Kelloggs in trafford park up to a section known as waters meet which has a good head of decent fish in it. This stretch was run by Trafford Angling on Moss Rd Stretford, the lads there should be able to give you more details.
