Depends on how much you are willing to pay and how long you are prepared to wait .
IMHO the best club without a waiting list is SOTAS but get your name down for PAAS as well . However looking at your location there is always Stockport fed you get Poynton pool and compstall on their card

i agree with stig it depends how much your willing to pay and what size fish your looking for and what type of fishing i.e. runs waters, challenges etc
SOTAS is probaly the best without a waiting list but probaly one of the best anyway

thx guys am a 3 month member of stocky fed at the moment but dont fancy there waters to much i fish the 2 small ponds "bramhall new house farm " and i live 5 mins walk from woodbank pool both of which you can spit bank to bank however they do hold 20 plus fish i saw a 18 common taken from woodbank a fortnight ago off the top so handy for quick sessions i fancy something a bit more challenging i like the look of booths apart from the falling trees that is i like a challenge so any ideas would be great thx

lol ok mate get down there after the kids hols nice and quiet good for stalking in the messy end however stocky fed are not bothering with the water at all and it is going down hill fast which is a shame yes the kids do mess about but a good loud shout usally puts them back in line as with all kids there is talk of a few anglers getting together and applying to stocky fed to rent the water from them and apply to stockport council for any grants that maybe avaliable to tidy up the place and then charge a day ticket minimal price to help cover rental costs good idea but stocky council are notoriously tight with there pennies lets hope some one does something soon as another cracking little water and some big carp will go the way of the dinosaurs

when you say woodbank holds 20 plus fish do you mean quantity or size ?, i don't think it holds anything over 20lb but the fish in there are absolutley stunning, from what i've been told it holds about 15 fish most are around the 16-18lb mark, both of the 2 fish i've caught from there were commons and scale perfect

compstall is absolutley rammed with 8-10lb commons there are hundreds of them there are about 3 or 4 low 20's backed up with plenty of doubles the larger fish are usually caught away from the islands which tend to hold the smaller fish

andy-s is your man for compstall really he's put in a lot of time on there

this is the largest i know of to come from there @ 23lb >>> what a stunning fish

if the sun is shining take some mixers coz they will be in the top layers and they're suckers for a surface bait ........... strictly speaking it is against the rules but everyone is at it

its a little harder to pick up the larger resedents they are often found in the margins
