Hey to all. looking at doin my first session on astbury this weekend ( if i can get on) , looking at doin a day session on there sunday hopefully , wanted to do a weekend but got work commitments . bummer. Just asking any regulars on here , how would you go about fishing it for the day. E.G. mobile approach if possible, bait etc. any views would be well appreciated.

Good luck mate, was briefly there on Sunday and saw a Carp show himself on the surface, which was nice to see.

As for the roving approach, I'm maybe implement this later in the year when the fish are a little less dormant, but obviously if fish really do start to show elsewhere then move!

I would be looking for signs of fish before I chose my swim, and then stick at it as the water temperature wills till be pretty cold. But obviously if the fish are showing themselves elsewhere it's always worth having a wander round and chucking a single hookbait or small stringer in their vacinity.

Tight Lines anyway mate...

I'm not an expert on the place but if you were doing the day then one bit of advice that might help you is to get down realy early because thats the time when they show themselves most frequently. This may give you more chance of a take as you can get on the carp as quickly as possible.
