ooooohhhhhhh........Pickmere! many a time have i stood on that dam end lookin across and wondering! With it being relatively unfished and quite large, i've never had the balls to start on there - out of my comfort zone that place. Know its got some big bream in, but don't know about carp stock.

few of my mates have fished on there think they had maybe 2 fish only mid doubles.one of the lads only lives 5mins away and he heavily baited it for weeks filling it in 3 times a week.had nothing except bream.bagged it in the end had enough.have heard stories of fish being caught, never heard of anything massive 26/27lb biggest.you would like to think there could be some kippers swimming around in there somewhere though.

I fished Heatley Mere a bit late 05, early 06. I didn't catch anything but I did see them. Didn't see any monsters, low/mid doulbles the best I saw. Talking to the few people that walked round now and again, the biggest would go upper double.

It suffers from litter and gets fished a lot by kids and lads who treat the place like a land fill site, I'd get down there to find beer cans/bottles, bags of rubbish hanging from the trees, loo roll, gas bottles, you name it It used to drive me mad, and it put me off going there in the end. I told the club about the problems but I think it went in one ear and out the other

Default heatley

fished heatley mere myself a good few times last year....not the hardest of waters...averaged 2 or 3 fish in a night found that they didnt feed much in the day...biggest i had as 15lb mirror but a mate had a 19lb mirror that looked quite old!!

It is filthy on there, litter is ridiculous on there and full of rats which aint surprising....

PM me with your number if you want mate ... I bailiff the Northwich bank of Pickmere, but also walk the Sale Moor bit ( along the public footpath ), and haven't bumped into one of your bailiff's yet ... 2 sets of eye's are better than one ...

Oh and back to the original question itchy ... it's worth fishing - there are some good fish in there but easy it ain't !!!
