Not fished it for a few years, have had low double commons out of there. Was told of a mid-twenty common from a couple of reliable sources but nothing above this, bigger fish wouldn't be a surpise though.
When I fished it it was days only and no boilies, though some guys did do the nights on there. Wasn't as hard as was led to believe, but suspected that fish had been moved from no.2 as a lot of what was getting caught were single/low double commons, not many mirrors at that time. The steep bank makes for tricky casting, but don't get too carried away with fishing the pads far out, loads of fish pass under the rod tips. Bit of a problem with car parking as well, Worthington car park not the best place to leave a vehicle overnight. Is a nice water to fish though, real classic looking carp water

number 2 fished quite well a month or so back, ended up with 7 fish in a day the biggest was 16, all commons. i have seen 19lb commons caught from number two wit rumours of low 20 commons, i think you can only use 20 boilies per day and a restriced amount of pellet
, but no one will check.the third lake is the smallest but best looking, and there are a few 20's about but its harder to get them now because people moved some of the small commons from number 2 in the 3rd, there are a couple of mirros in that one aswell, but you rarly see people fish where you can on the high bank. the rules getting out of hand now like no bivvies, certain amounts of bait, no bedcahire, or sleeping bags, no night fishing, and just generally awquard for carp anglers on there. |
