after spending a while on the easy waters, i need a change. Rather than going straight to the hrad stuff like capesthorne i want a good intermediate water that i can get to grips with. Does anyone have any good ideas? I am a member of SOTAS.
I know alot of people will say Bolesworth but that is a bit too far for me as i cant drive yet
help appreciated
Will

The capesthorne main lake has a good stock of fish and they seem more catchable than the top pool ones, but i may be very wrong.
Fanshawe is close but is probably classed as an easy water to be honest. Although you do get days when you cant buy a bite.
What about biddulph grange - dont know that much about it though but would guess its intermediate.

...Although you do get days when you cant buy a bite.
The last thing i would class Fanshawe as , is an easy water ive had to revert to match fishing tactics to buy a bite off a perch on there never mind a carp!! One rod only ,no boilies , no night fishing ive spent many a blank on the place.

Got into a bit of a stride on fanshawe last year and was disappointed if i left after a few hours without a carp. Although think it can be very day dependate.

My sentiments exactly on its day its great but when its not on song it can be soul destroying you can have carp 2 yards infront of you rolling taking natural flies etc but no matter what you chuck at em or how you chuck it does not make one jot of difference they are just not interested. However on a good day you can catch em off the top on dart baits like cheesey whotsits and monster munch they just HAVE IT !! .but the off days far out number the on days

Get yourself on capes m8, The best way to learn quickly in carp fishing is to keep moving up to harder waters if your fishing with expereinced anglers around you and for educated fish, you will learn more in a couple of weeks than you would in a season on a lesser water. The results feel all the better when you 've worked to a goal that you first thought a bit ambitious.
i first started fishing capesthorne when i was 13, i was nowhere near ready for those cunning old carp but i soon learnt from the many good anglers that fished capes in the mid-ninetys and from mistakes made.
12 years on i still stick to the same principal that if you keep moving up to a water with new level of difficulty you will keep learning.
have a look at some of the other local club cards too warrington, winsford , northwich e.t.c
