Default Dayticket water.

I'm taking a mate fishing in a couple of weeks who isn't a member of any fishing club. Could anyone reccomend a decent day-ticket water in the macclesfield, congleton, knutsford area where we'd have a good chance of getting a few runs plus perhaps a chance to do a bit of float/quiver-tipping for a few smaller fish. I was considering Gawsworth, but haven't fished it for years so dont know how well it fishes nowadays!

Cheers!!

Moreton is always a good bet. I fished gawsworth a bit last summer, but found that the owner had put a load of bait restrictions on, might have been a temperary thing but it put me off. Home farm in alsager is usually good for a few runs too.

Alright mate

Gawsworth might be ok. I used to fish the place alot when first getting back into carp fishing. The last 2 yrs i used go just to get a bend in the rod but now ive even stopped doing that.
He stopped the beachcaster setup as it was catching to many fish, he upped the prices so it now costs a fortune to fish there for the weekend and non of the big fish have been out for ages.
Pretty much most of the regulars have gone and the only people who fish it now are the type that take gazibo's, outside toilet and 2x24cans of stella....

Turners at Wincle is a guaranteed bend in the rod water. No chunks but definately feeder and float tactics worth ago.

if you can get there and its not to far, try Lakemore in Crewe

nice fishery, comfortable swims, plenty of fish plus some huge moggies

try it, you might find you like it

The Beachcaster set up is for fishing floaters..it is basically using a big pike float and a lead then having the hooklink way up the line, so that if you fish with your rod pointing skywards in an upright rest you can get your hookbait to just kiss the surface with non of it in the water. It can be a good method but many people don't like it...as it is not very fish friendly

Your correct - Turners has a close season. Not 100 % sure when it starts but deff finishes on the start of old close season. Pretty sure he follows the old dates so check before you go
