Talking Park Life

Hi Guy's..

Just lookin for info on the Park Lakes which are situated in the Northwest and even down as far as Shropshire/Bir****ham. Has anybody come across any council owned lakes, which are cheap fishing, Ideally fish to 30lb.

I have seen a few threads on the Manchester Park Lake, any info on that as i am struggling to find it.

Cheers

Might be King George V park in manchester but never been overally clear on it or its inhabitants. Some in liverpool with muffled rumours of a 30 or two but nothing concrete.
Would doubt you will be finding any ones like the one wilmott fished/fishes down south.
Most tend to be pritty well scoped out for potential, why would you want to fish a park lake by the way with some many cheap tickets about in the NW?

MPL AKA Clifton, got some nice fish in it BUT being where it is you are looking at typical inner city fishing problems-ie cars being broken into/stolen/burnt (or in MPL case once) rolled down the lake embankment into the water!) not to mention tackle thefts, chavvies, dog walkers, noise, potential muggings-unfortunately these things come with the territory, the likes of Sale,Chorlton, debdale and other GM located waters suffer similar prob's.

Solution? Fish days only or travel further afield or if you are very dedicated and in search of those big fellas get a lift to/from the water.Personally I go to relax and worrying about my motor weighs heavily on my mind to the point of not wanting to be there regardless of how big the fish are.Hats off to those lads who persist on these places in search of their prized stock

i know where you`re coming from there nev... if you can`t concentrate on your fishing through worrying about your car or tackle being nicked, what`s the point in being there!

Just having a scout about mate, in most towns there seem to be a couple of good Park Lake's which throw up a good fish or two simlar to Westport. Its just a matter of doing the research, and trying to find out the places. Thanks for the info on the Liverpool water

Usually the only problems fishing these types of water's, hassles and the nightlife which gets around them - I know most people wouldn't even look at most of them.

I saw in one mag, a 40 from a Park Lake in Manchester, anybody know which one, thats off?

Quite amusing that site... unbelievable really !!

Clifton aka Manc Park Lake

It hasn't done a 40... no manchester lake ever has !
closest was an upper 30 from a private manchester water.

Clifton has fish to a best weight of 37, probably less now. Mirror not common. The biggest common died and was a low 30.
It's very well known, weedy and heavily pressured.
You'll have lots of fun on there.. LOL

Default Park life

Stowe Pool in the centre of Lichfield and run by the local authority has certainly done 30lb+ fish in the past to Wayne Dunne amongst others.
