Default Capesthorne Main Pool

Decided to re-start my carp fishing on Capesthorne Main Pool...TP and Redes..I'm not ready for yet.
Containable size, decent head of bigger fish, ( although they seem pretty wiley - currently 4.30ish in the afternoon 3 or 4 loners and one pair start to move to the shallows and back to the middle section, then appear to move out in concentric circles getting closer to the banks with each 'tour' - am I giving them too much credit? in thinking this spiralling out from the middle is done to detect lines in the water and if they find none they feed more freely? ) pretty weed/snag free, seems quite unpressured, fish often visible to keep the spirits up...etc. Anyone who's been there done that with the venue got any tips...I hear they do not like a lot of bait down, stringers/pva is the best approach, should I limit sessions to couple of hours into dusk or can you expect takes during the day .... any bait flavour's or rigs with a good track record, any areas better in autumn months Garden or Park....that sort of stuff..cheers.

The last 30mins of a session on Capes can be hectic..Leaving the rods on the deck til as late as possible was a winner, and a quick dash back to the car was called for. Also having your rods baited up if your arriving first thing in the morning, with stringers already done and rods baited..catch them off there guard - Worth the effort for some bonus fish..But watch out for the Green Eyes, lol:-)

Also the last few days in October used to be a winner...u used to be able to fish into dark for a hour - when the clocks go back(not sure if that rule still stands)-get booking some holidays for those days...banker!!

Try not have your rod tips in the water, keep well back and slack lined..

Nash Baits work well..

I noticed this behaviour too, and like yourself I had to come to the same conclusion, they are looking for lines .

All you can do is try and pin your line down, avoid it trailing over weedbeds etc.... and I think your right on the bait front, less=more
