Follow the wind is the best advice for Oxlease (at least as much as peg choice will allow it's allways full). Fish at different distances until you start getting bites and then move two rods to that spot but far out can be the most productive when the lake is full. Don't be too quick with the spod rod starting on bags can make all the difference these days. Any good boillie, maggots or particles will score. But wind is by far the most important the carp do tend to follow it in there. Be prepared to move if a good peg becomes available part way into your stay.

its packed most of the year, i went on a wednesday last year and there was a few pegs available, some pegs are huge though and well big inuf for 2 people. i blanked when i went but there was a guy next to us watching everyone spod for hours, he put 6 boilies in a pva web and had a 22lb`er in the first hour. when everyone is spodding the fish will look for somewhere quiet until their confidence comes back, hit `em then! the food delivery is good too, chicken cashew nut is reccomended!!

Odds are it will be very busy but you should get a peg. Once turned up at 7am on a Monday morning in February and couldn't get a peg!!! However Brasenose opening has made it easier. If it is full just nip to one of the other lakes on the complex Brasenose is a runs water like Oxlease but with less original fish St Johns/Hardwick/Manor have some fabulous fish in and are not "hard lakes" by northern standards.

Oh sorry meant to say it fishes all through the year mid October should be fine but you know how carp fishing can be. I only really fish it in winter and have never blanked on there in 10 or so visits over 3 or 4 years. Don't assume the carp will do it for you as they see a lot of pressure all year round. If you work hard and fish as hard as you would a low stock northern water then you should catch.
