Default Help! Fishing in Altrincham

Hey, ive recently become more interested in fishing locally and more regularly. However my main problem is that im 15 so some waters are off limits to me due to age restrictions. Also i have travel problems, my mum dosent mind giving me a lift for 20 minutes odd. Also i dont mind using my bike.

Im looking for local runs waters that will accept my age ect. Ive tried fishing a few places near me - king georges pool and dunham fisheries. However king georges has proven to be a hard venue and ive blanked on 3 day sessions so far. And dunham fisheries has an under 16's limit.

So please could you reccomend some local places - i dont mind paying, and im not interested in catching huge carp, just in having a good days fishing .
Im pretty new to carp fishing, but not to fishing on a whole.

Also ive been looking at some of the local clubs, some that have stood out are PAAS, Bay Malton, Altrincham ADAC and warrington. Could anyone reccomend which of these clubs would offer the most to me.

Before i forget to mention i live in the Timperley Area

Try here mate Lymm is only about 20m mins from Alty it says disabled mate but its not a disabled only water it just caters for disabled anglers Has a fair few pegs with wheel chair access etc. I believe Linnet is small intimate place but a good runs water with a fair few doubles and a few 20s and not difficult

no seriously mate.... dont join Alty if you cant bag a few from KG. On KG, try and fish away from the islands as every man and his dog fishes there, try the narrower end , small baits , sharp from the packet hooks, 4 oz leads ( even in the edges) and use backleads.

Well ive been fishing there for 4 day sessions, from about 10-6 each day. From the spot i go to i can see all the guys in the bivvies, who obviously have much more skill than me. Ive only even seen one fish brought in.

I think im fishing where you are talking about at the moment - the place where the pegs back onto the footy pitch? Ive been using sweetcorn/maggots on a method feeder and trying to fish next to the tiny island, but i havent even had any takes.

Ill try again since ive invested in some pva bags, and ill try boilies this time.

And as i said mate, im new to carp angling. These 4 sessions are the only time ive been specificially carp fishing.

re:king george v

I haven't been on for over 12 months but i'd say 90% of the fish were caught after dark when i used to go, with an hour after dark and an hour before light being the most likley times to catch

with it being so shallow if the water level drops it can make things a little more difficult, water levels are down all over the area at the moment, whats it like on there ???

good old georgy porges, what your best off doin mate is walking up the bank about 30/40 yards from where your fishing(if there is noone else next to you) and drop ypu baits about a foot from the bank, try tigers or sweetcorn over hemp, normally does the trick, stick with it mate, you don't need all the fancy bivvies and that to catch. and head away from where the crowds are

Well the water levels were a bit low previously but they are ok now after a few days of rain ^^.

On the pro side although i did blank on my last session, i did see a carp about half a meter from the bankside, exactly where one of my rods had been :P i tried to unpack but it had gone by the time i had.

re: whogotmelighter, do you mean walk towards where the bivvies are, or the opposite direction:
