Default Boundary water park (info/help needed)

hello all.
I'm after a little info about this place, specifically what it was originally called when prince albert held the water? something pool i think it was? im pretty familiar with the water as to its features, but im just trying to find out as much about the place as i can before i start back on there. the net throws up very little when i search for anything if i type in "boundary"
what im hoping for is to find a bit of background as to its original stocking or further stocking it may have had, maybe even an old photo of the place if or when it had been drained or before it was filled as i would like to try and sketch up a decent map of the place, i know im probabaly hoping for too much.
if anybody could help me out or point me in the right direction it would be hugely apreciated

thanks in advance

Jason

When PA had it it was called woodlands. Sorry I dont know much else as they lost it before I joined. I think they netted it and removed carp before they left!

thats the one, yeah i was told P.A did a netting before they gave it up, but from what i heard they never did a very good job of it? i was also told that many P.A anglers "removed" fish from there after this and re-homed them in club waters, heard of a common in particular that is "supposedly" doing very well indeed in a syndicate water?. as with much of the info i have heard about the place whether there is any truth in that i dont know
so much conflicting information regarding the water it makes me dizzy.

thanks for the reply thou mate

its all swings and roundabouts mate, best advice i can give is to believe your own eyes, put your time in, watch the fish, work on your map and build up your own interpretation of whats in there
Sound advice that MarkeR

Ive heard that many rumors about Boundary, fish stock, fish size, where they've gone etc, it's ridiculous. As MarkeR said, you'll never know the truth (Get Moulder and Scully on the case )

When I fished it I was told PA netted it just before they lost it and took the fish with them. Fish stock Ive been told anything between 20 - 60, biggest fish around the 30 mark apparently.

thanks for the replies guys,
to be honest i never take what is said about a water as gospel regardless, ive spent a fair amount of time on the water, many times just sitting/walking the banks with a cup of coffee with no intention of fishing it, ive got my own ideas and thoughts in my mind about the place but just like to get as much info as i can, but ive never fished a place like it, you can speak to one person and be told one thing, then walk to the next bivvy and be told a story that is total opposite of what was just said
i did draw up a map lastyear, detailing features, depths, where fish had been spotted in certain conditions, and where some of the larger fish had been caught in the past, to try and see if there is any pattern etc, but the place started to make my brain hurt so i stepped back from it for a while to have a re-think.

no worries, Alan doesn't care too much about the place but i know he would have something to say if he saw them, but he wont say anything if he see's a person swimming with a small bucket of bait and thier rig clipped onto their wrist with an elastic band and a snorkle on

Question

Can tell you the lake was dug in two parts, the original lake used to be the wooded end stretching up to allens house, it was only more recent that the pads end of lake was added. Fish wise i'm only guessin but think the majority of the fish will have come from the isle in shropshire.

whogotmelighter : cheers mate, yeah ive read throu said post (a couple of times) and tbh it doesn't contain much info than what ive already heard or read...... but thanks anyhooowz

cheshirepoacher : yeah thats right, from what ive heard the original lake was alot smaller and was used as a trout fishery there must be a photo of when they "extended" the lake knocking about somewhere
they quarried the sand from there, and the lake over the road for the motorway didn't they????
have you any idea as to what strain the original stocking was, as some of the fish in there are stunning, maybe not the biggest around, but nice fish all the same imho

only started fishing the place during the end of september and throu-out the winter, doing in excess of 70ish nights and countless days, even xmas and newyears was spent on the banks not an easy water, which is why i like it

thanks again guys

i fished it a couple of times recently and every angler i spoke to said, don`t bother coming back... 60 carp maximum, too hard, but it is a nice place with some nice fish if you go by the photos in the shop. i also seen a guy in a boat, and those blummin swimmers! let us know if you catch any good ones mate, i got a 5lb bream for my troubles.

hi kopite,
yeah the stocking level you have been told is around the mark i put it at mate, and yes, it is a hard water, but thats why i like it also my baby which is due in october was concieved on the banks so it holds a bit of a special place in my heart ive been on there many times throu the winter with the lake to myself only ever hooked into one which i lost in snags, waded out to free it up but it had already shed the hook but yes there are some nice fish to go at, alot nicer than the photo's in the shop as for the bream, the place is full of em, going to double figures aswell
