Default Pilkinsons Tiles Nr clifton

Right anyone seen the lake??

If you go down the motorway m60 i think/ m66 i think just before the turn of you go past pilkinsons tiles factory, and in front is a nice looking lakes thats just dieing for me to fish it! Anyone alse noticed this?? Is there any fish in??

Help please its been picking at my brain every time i go past!

Is it clifton marina? If so it has some big carp in, rumours of a near 40 I think. Ive walked round it but but never fished it. Dodgy area apparantly but lakes nice enough.

nah not clifton... and not near 40 fella... mid thirties really.
these are pretty hard to access.. no idea whats in them but seeing my surname is Pilkington i might be able to grab a pass !

no its not clifton marina!

i have fished clifton many of times!

and had angry back in the day at 32lb 8oz! still my pb the fish is now 37lb ish!

its a different lake pretty much infront of pikie tiles! looks nice no where nr as big as the marina!

no no thats the one! i was only about 16 ish at the time, and i did not have a clue what i was doing really! but now i am wiser and i still cant beat my PB haha! but i will keep on trying!

yeah its put alot of weight on i was very very lucky to catch it as at the time i was fishing, i did not have a clue pure luck!

but cheered me up and made me addicted to carping so i love the fish!

ive noticed them a few times, never seen anyone fishing them though. mcr centre bound, just before pilks tiles... i`d be interested to hear of any fish in them as i say, always empty. cud be gud!!

Apologies for resurecting an old thread....

As far as I know the water your on about was or still is some sort of overflow or settlement lagoon for the sewage works on the opposite side of the motorway (Situated behind the other lakes you can see on the opposite side)

It was dug as a replacement for one that was filled in when they put the motorway in.

As far as I know it contains no fish, although it's possible that if the water quality's OK a few bits might have found there way in via natural means.

If you want a mooch your probably best parking somewhere near Wickes or on lumbs lane and then making your way on foot down into the valley and crossing the river behind Pilkys via the old aquaduct.....TBH if your looking for Carp I think your wasting your time and I'm not entirely sure what access there is to the lagoons as the ones opposite are on private land.

Tho' that didn't stop the Bloodworm Scrapers...
