Apologies for resurecting an old thread....
As far as I know the water your on about was or still is some sort of overflow or settlement lagoon for the sewage works on the opposite side of the motorway (Situated behind the other lakes you can see on the opposite side) It was dug as a replacement for one that was filled in when they put the motorway in. As far as I know it contains no fish, although it's possible that if the water quality's OK a few bits might have found there way in via natural means. If you want a mooch your probably best parking somewhere near Wickes or on lumbs lane and then making your way on foot down into the valley and crossing the river behind Pilkys via the old aquaduct.....TBH if your looking for Carp I think your wasting your time and I'm not entirely sure what access there is to the lagoons as the ones opposite are on private land. Tho' that didn't stop the Bloodworm Scrapers...
