Default the dock - Cumbria

Hi - Just been reading an interesting article about a potentially very interesting water in Cumbria called The Dock. Quite a large water at approx. 160 acres.

An outlet from a nearby cooling tower pumps warm water into the lake at around 30 degrees.......settling to around 21 throughout most of the lake creating a very stable almost continental water environment.

Absolutely bursting with small fish that have grown very quickly and a few large fish upto 36 also present.

With the limited amount of pressure this large lake gets .....it's tipped to throw up a right ol lump!

Anyone heard much about this water?

Cheers.

Caught my attention as a friend of mine worked for Shell at Stanlow. He's a keen fisherman and happened to attend a netting party on a small lake near to Stanlow.....again a nearby cooling tower from the plant warmed the water of the lake.

They netted an impressive tally of big fish of all species from the lake including carp to upper 30....makes you wonder!

The Dock could well be a water to keep an eye on....
