Default One for the future?

Had my eye on these for some time now and always take a little detour past if im heading down that way. Was never able to see them on any satellite imaging sites before now tho because the images were too old but looks like theyve just been updated.

Aggregate Industries are working the quarries down there.... would be nice have a few gravel pits 10min down the road from stoke

Just what i thought Jay, visibility is limited when you drive past due to huge bars of gravel and i could only see the most southern pit but suspected there was more. This is the first time ive been able to see whats actually there and it looks promising.

I spent one hell of a day at this site, Uttoxeter quarry around 10 years ago maybe less my mind is failing.I was set the task of ensuring the conveyors from the largest pit didnt snarl up with larger than average aggregate.I was of course armed with a copy of ACF to keep me good It kept me that good that when the thing did snarl up I was reading about Dave Ball taking some southern runs water apart

I spoke to the site manager about the outcome of the site once the operation had finished, rest assured lads its certainly one for the future as I think a fishery is almost guaranteed.I think from memory it was supposed to be landscaped by 2010 or maybe 2012

Too true. A Stoke based club, which is peanuts to join, has a pit not 5 minutes from these.

And the fish are well into their 20s and growing nicely.

theres quite a few around mate...some stocked as well.. because people arnt fishing them they get overlooked...weve also got some very secluded stretches of canals in the moorlands that hold some real biggies and are really worth giving a go

it looks good for the future of our sport makes me laugh when people moan about angling volume on certain waters when there is like you say so much unfished water around im starting get the buzz for these unknown pits dont fancy wasting 4 years chasing shadows tho!
