Default Crabmill

I hold fond memories of this place Lots of difficult to catch big carp (apart from the big ghostie) Does anybody know of its standing nowadays ? I have lost touch since the 2004 fish kill on there. I know Wheelock walked away from it and Lymm took it on board with next to no fish in there. Does anyone know the details of this class fishery today ????????

An old CRABMILL CARPER

Heard of a 29 common out mesen,am not suprised as after the fish kill i saw a big common jump down the bottom pool,it jumped twice and was defo upper 20ys,there were 3 different commons in there around that weight, would say there were no more than 20y carp left in there after the fish kill.

That ghostie took a liking to bending your carbons Bebb

Middle age Crabmill carper,

Middle age Crabmill carper,
Had the Ghostie myself at 18lb out of Hancocks before it was stocked into Crabmill.........about 17 years ago. Might even scan and post the picture, it's VERY old school though so no laughs please!

Middle age Crabmill carper,
Caught him five times in three years Rola lowest weight 22 highest 27-12 was about the only Mug fish swimming the waters of Crabmill but his solid looks and surface fights were pretty impressive

Alas dead now After the fish kill in 2005 i managed a 24 and 21 common(the only big carp i saw) out of there plus a 15 mirror so there was an handful left but i saw to many of the high 20's and low 30's put in holes and buried.

If its producing well today why is the car park always empty
