quite agree 5 rods is ridiculous... for starters, look how far apart they are.

Think that's the key - the bit of the lake, which from my odd walk round the place, has most potential (and also sees southerly/SW winds I think???) is the bird sanctuary. A few thoughts on how to fish it go through your head I suppose....

The area that gets the most attention, at least there's been a lad fishing there on my visits, wouldn't be my choice but seems only spot where you can, legitimely night fish. Think he said he's had about 4 fish in a few years from that area!

iv had a 3lb 8oz perch out of there in my younger days

never fished it for carp though
