Default Angling club advice

I am looking to join a club at the start of next year as I am getting fed up with where I regularly go. I was hoping to get some information on any clubs in the surrounding area of Skelmersdale. Just if there are any (as I have searched the net with no luck) and what peoples impressions are. I have used the website search function to no avail so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are in to your roundabouts then Skem is ace but fishing wise seems a bit of a let down. The lad I fish with lives up there (I'm on the Wirral) and as I am the driver kind of limited to the Skem and surrounding area.

If there are carp in the water I'll give it a go, as long as we aren't talking very hard (Petty Pool) difficulty.Just had enough of what amounts to park lakes and was after going some where I can sink my teeth in to for a good while.

A controversial idea, but how about your friend leaves his tackle at your place, gets the bus/train over to yours and you drive from there? If this works, it could open up a whole load more venues to try?

Mike.
