WAA side is poo now, every fish if you catch one is a single.... stuffed with eel and bream...
i think its gone poo because a few fish are getting nicked and a few have died... also the works they were doin on the canal....

herd the other stretch on the left hand side of the dual carriage way (as your going into warrington) has been producing some fish...

dont no who it is owned by but i know you can purchase permits on the bank on from the tackle shops.

it's owned by dallam and district angling association, 2 quid day ticket on the bank or a massive Ł20 joining fee.
they only have the canal and a pool further up (near where shakies pit used to be). stanners (the pool) is only a small water, good course and well stocked with small carp. record only 14lb though.

but yeah the canal is supposed to have some decent carp in it, they have from the marina at fiddlers ferry down through warrington.

Dont fish it on your own, plenty of idiots and eastern europeans walking round there who'd be happy to take your gear...this almost happened to me and I have'nt been there alone since...mind you this was the bewsey end running up to the old liverpool road (where dallam have placed a net to stop fish moving towards fidlers).....

Some right crackers in there to be had, and they love a bit of surface action on clear warm days
