Cant give you any up to date info mate sorry.I did fish it about 5 times though some years back and it was pretty easy theres a good head of fish in there.I had my best results from putting some bait in the night before.Didnt have anything big biggest about 13lb but always had more than one run even on cold November days.Lost one good un right under my feet that I hooked by the island.Once it was cold we were getting runs on single pop ups by the island. They also liked floaters.I reckon you could pick em up most places as like I say theres a good head, probably too many.A mate from work fished there a few times a couple of years ago just one rod for the carp and one on float. He caught carp everytime upto 17lb using Dynamite shrimp n prawn boilies just small PVA stockings.

The biggun is still going so its definitely worth fishing.Tight lines

I heard it had got a bit harder now mate but the upside is the fish are a bit bigger, quite a few singles when I fished it which was 1996.But like I say my mate did ok just one rod he had all his fish from the open water fishing from the lawn side.

Good luck

i fished it last weekend, there was 12 people on and 1 fish got caught, the suddern bright weather hasent helped much, if you do give it a go my advice would be zig rigs down the middle. i was talkin to one of the locals, he says it was him who had the big un out the other week and it was bob on 30lb, funny how fish have different wieghts when you talk to theguy who caught it, next time he tells his story it may be 31lb

I wasnt trying to be funny guvnor22002 - its just best to get out there and find some things out for yourself - i have never fished Biddulph Grange myself but im almost certain that there is more than one depth in the 'middle' of the lake.

My mate had 'Big Willy' out last winter (forum name - leek matt), i went up to take the pictures for him - its certainly worth fishing for and at a few ounces under 30, looked stunning in his winter colours! He rarely blanked through the winter - always had a couple in a day at least.

Good luck

Chris
