Now tell me whats the difference.

Massive difference
1- dave lane, tresspassing.....only
2-Richie, tresspassing, fishing the area of water that is regarded as a safe haven by anglers and fish, which is a lot easier to catch from than fishing the pond legaly, a lot easier. lying to anglers fishing legaly on the fishing bank, throwing the odd kilo of bait in as a decoy, and then telling them he's catching the fish from an unfancied swim, but all the time he's taking the easy route and denying other anglers a chance of catching the fish he is by foul means, then rubbing peoples faces in it by posting the pics, then initialy denying it all until there was no way out of the corner he had backed himself into.
What Richie did, affected the month of nights for people who gave up 4 weekends of good fishing time to do work parties, which would give them only 7 nights on the lake, what he did killed off the swims at the top end of the lake and caused many to unknowingly waste there time and holidays, not to mention money on bait and tackle. Dave lane bothered no one.
Richie and others like him had/have no respect for fello anglers and their fishing and in some cases the fish they wish to catch, lets hope they have/will at some point change their ways for the sake of angling.
how do u know richie fished there in may , i think you sould get your facks right before slating him any more , hes held his hands up and been slated ,too death ,he knows what he did was wronge !!! end of

another pointless, going over old ground thread that is worthless and a bitchfest, all this nonsense should be said face to face or something similar instead of handbags at 10 paces on a internet site behind false names

Have never fished Petty, never met Ritchie, as such have no opinion of either but am surprised that this still keeps cropping up.

Right or wrong aside, used to be said that there was no such thing as bad publicity. The club may disagree with this as they have probably had more interest through recent events than it could ever had got through any kind of marketing, would doubt that it was welcome though and even the guys fishing the water must be getting pee'd off with all of the attention.

Said this before but if Ritchie wrote a book then I'm not sure too many would see him as the villain. Would be an interesting read for some with a few photo's of much sought after North West fish, once they are in the album they are there to stay and there will always be someone interested to find out just how they got there. How many of the named anglers bent the rules to get to where they are and have benefitted since, no doubt upsetting a few on their way.

Right or wrong is a matter of opinion, as is good and bad publicity.

Surely time to move on.

Guesting/poaching call it what you like, it is trespass and illegal period!! laws are there for all to abide by to keep order and avoid anarchy, the people who abide by such laws usually have some moral fibre and take such rules seriously and go about there daily life trying to stay within the boundaries of these laws which isn’t always easy these days, then there are those who go through life flouting laws with an arrogance all of their own trying to justify what they do by giving it a less serious name like knockoff instead of stolen or going on a bakky run instead of smuggling or saying I only buy knock off if it comes out of a box coz its only a faceless shop that’s loosing out and they can afford it !! All just excuses to deflect the fact they don’t give a sh it and are gonna do what they like and put two fingers up to everyone else.

As for you Mr Hotshot I find you hypocrisy incredible, you have gone around like Miss marple catching people guesting your favourite water then come onto the local forums beating your chest and having the "guesters" pilloried for what they have done because it doesn't suit you and your mates, as a matter of interest I was with you all the way until I read the Tom Kite you have just come out with," Now I don’t expect everyone to share my opinion on this, but I see nothing wrong with guesting a no fishing lake as long as you don’t treat it like a tip and leave your rubbish bagged up under a bush. I guest no fishing lakes from time to time but you would never know I had been there. ", You arrogant twot, so you were never caught lucky you but what if you had been and some local club were working on the owner to get the fishing writes and your selfish arrogance has sabotaged it, the fact is you go around preaching the rights and wrongs whilst doing the same thing yourself, and then go on to say bag up your rubbish and leave it under a bush WTF then proceed to call younger anglers for littering the place, the only difference between you and them is the fact you put yours under a bush !! Maybe the younger anglers took home their rubbish and the litter you found was yours strewn around by a fox or dog??? I just hope Eddy and Ritchie follow you around now and pounce on you in the middle of the night and have you pilloried on the forums. There is no such thing as guesting as the word guest implies an invitation, one which you have been refused.

It is a pointless thread, its been dead and buried for ages but someone brought it back to life for what reason god knows some being bored agian perhaps ?

As for mentioning Richie, not guilty, go back through the thread, someone did, nothing has been said that aint been said before, and as for slaying Richie fished in May....I didnt, but he was pre-baiting, which caused the top end to shut up shop early in the month, and lead to a very quick capture of the Bream in early June. Fact.

Move on indeed....lock it and bury it.

The lake I used to guest never will be owned by a club, ever, and I never said I bag up rubbish an stash it under a bush, I said Im sick of seeing rubbish that has been bagged and thrown under a bush, (which I end up having to throw on my back along with my own because of some lazy c11nt didnt give a toss) READ IT FIRST

Very odd - someone states where they draw the line in terms of poaching/guesting, and gets slagged for it. Thought it was a quite reasoned point of view myself.

Is it not just basic angling etiquette i.e. it's fair game if you're not spoiling it for others/putting fish at risk?

But I see nothing wrong with guesting a no fishing lake as long as you don’t treat it like a tip and leave your rubbish bagged up under a bush.

But I see nothing wrong with guesting a no fishing lake as long as you don’t treat it like a tip and DON'T leave your rubbish bagged up under a bush.

Maybe it would have been clearer with the "DON'T"
