Think your right there Mate as when I read the Post I thought Fine no problem at all...Cant see what the problem is!

And if the Northwest Anglers are not happy about a guy in Scotland doing the Catch Reports it would be nice to hear just how many of them have rung up and said " I am in the NW and would like to do the Catch Reports on a Regular Basis as it seems your struggling to find a regular"

Its very easy to sit behind a Keyboard and knock other peoples efforts but if you think you can do better then GET OFF YOUR AR**S and Try it sometime.

I've never appeared in carp talk fella - fact.

I think you're (and a few others ) are missing the point.



Is it really so wrong to expect a little professional courtesy? I guess so listening to you lot! I must be old-school, as I believe there is a right way and a wrong way to go about things – especially when you are after something in return!

If I wanted to place a card asking for help in somebody’s shop window – I’d ask the person who owned the window first!

I think if I was writting for a mag and wanted info from a website, I would have asked first Not that I would write for a mag as i cant spell magazzine

Can the info not be cathered from the " catch report " section?

you could also pm and ask if they want to, contribute?

My initial post was simply about a post that appeared to be more of a demand than a polite request
As Julian has stated a bit of courtesey goes one hell of a long way when you asking for something for nothing. Strange that i seem to have to explain why i first posted.
I know personally a few lads that have done the North West piece for Carp Talk over many years. I have submitted countless photographs and information, there isn't any crime in that. At times i have submitted pics due to ties to bait companies, and others because i was politely asked if i had any news or pics for a piece. I was asked at one point to contact Paddy Webb and apply to be the North west contributor when they advertised a number of years ago, but declined. I fully understand what is required to fulfill the mags pages and also know how demanding certain individuals at the mag are for deadline material to produced on the desk.

No offence was meant, simply a matter of remember that you are asking... and it always sounds better with Please.

I can understand Julian asking for permission to plug the bait...after all he has commercial interests to look after...fair enough.

But for people to assume Adi has no manners...well that's very unfair. It's hard to gauge context when somebody sends a text message,sends a quick email or forum post.

I'm sure Adi is a decent guy, you can tell that from his replies. He's taken some crap and is probably a bit upset about it.

And he probably won't be recommending the site to any of his fellow Scottish carp anglers...which is a shame and a missed oppurtunity for the site.

I don't mean to be funny but this forum is far from clicky you should see the rtoc now thats clicky. There a rite grumpy bunch.

The northern monkies in my view is the best web site for carp anglers and the like. I've been on the sick recentley from work and without this site I would of gone mad!!!! Just been givern another two weeks aswell. How peolple live on ssp I'll never no.

Honestley fella. I have trawlled the net for ages member of numerous forums and what not.You have to pay 25 quid a year for the rtoc and own a renault 5 gt for what thats werth. The site was down for 2 months aswell the server went bump. It still isn't running properly. Tbh tho my renault hasn't moved for over a year not since my rod put a hefty scratch down the side.

I think these sites are difficult to understand sometimes. Txt chat doesn't help. Things are easily interpreted wrong.

Ps can I have bait instead of the money please? lol
