Default Warrington Angler Association - Waters

Hi,
I been looking for a angling club to join around the North West and have been considering WAA.
Have looked at a few forums and seem to get mixed reports on the club and the waters so not sure how aacurate they are.
Has anyone got any up to date info on the club and following waters as these are the ones I am likely to pay a visit if I join. I have had a look at their website and all the waters sound worth a go but sounds too good to be true so I'm after an impartial opinion.

Sandiway Lakes (Do both lakes contain carp?)
The Mount Fishery
Moore Quarry
Grey Mist

Any advice appreciated
Cheers

Hi Mate

Grey mist gets chocker at weekends, went back on there after a long break, i have fished a few midweek sessions caught a few carp each time, although most of the fish are knackered, mouths damaged beyond recognition, had a 20 last week could just fit a 12mm boilie in its mouth! it looked more like a sturgeon if that makes any sense!?! made me feel sick! if your not bothered about catching disfigured carp then give it a go, if you can get a peg, and can put up with the amount of kids that hang around there.

this info is only 2nd hand, cos i dont fish there, but;
have heard there are a couple of proper biggies in the mount.
moore has fish to mid 20's with chat of uncaught lumps?
sandiways, as above. although the big fish that everyone talks about may be cats!

Cheers for the info, don't think Grey Mist is for me can't stand really busy waters don't want to catch fish that have mouths like sturgeon either, don't mind if they fight like them!
Does anyone know how busy it gets at Sandiway and The Mount, went for a look round Sandiway late afternoon on the bank hoilday and were only a few people on is this the norm?

sandiways can be bombed out at times.

also the mount is stitched up by the regulars / locals i find. not worth the travel up their tbh as theres no special fish in there.

every warrington water gets bombed out. always alot of kids knocking about at weekends.

I was in Warrington for a bit, about 3 years ago. Used to work down the road from Grey Mist and it is a **** hole - the amount of litter is a joke. Fished it, and seen a baliff rollock a group of kids for killing a jack pike - they hadn't at all and the fish they had caught had all been unhooked and returned as well possible. Just a bully.

Walked Sandiway a few times and seen **** and bog roll left just behind more than one swim on each occasion I went down (swims cut into the thick bushes were the worst)

I wouldn't rejoin in a hurry.

Both waters have/had potential but aren't looked after in my opinion. Moore is maybe worth a look but if that doesn't do it I'd look at Stoke for an easily joined club. For all the issues people have with the way the Stoke's waters are managed they're light years ahead of WAA.

The Mount....... not that busy because it is out of the way for a Warrington Water, told by the baliff there are some mid 20's in there but the stock is unknown as it's a new water for Warrington but there are plenty of features but don't forget your abseiling gear to get to some of the pegs.

Secure car park with big gates which is padlocked but don't know if thats to stop your car being nicked or keep the council estate that it backs onto out.

Sandiway - Get there on a Thursday if you want a peg for the weekend on the big lake as there is a mad rush from Friday morning onwards but prepare to blank quite often unless you want to fish for some of the other big residents.
