Default River Dane and River Weaver

Hi Guys, I'm taking the old man fishing for a couple of days at the
back end of June. (father's day thing)

We both fancy a bit of river fishing for a change (chub and barbel for beer!)

We used to belong to Bay Malton a few years back, but I can't afford to
re-join just now, but I haven't a clue where else to go as all our river fishing was done on their ticket.

Can any of you help as where to go? We're looking for day ticket parts of the Dane (although I've heard it's been polluted recently?) or Weaver after chub, barbel and maybe the odd carp. We will be based in Alsager, so anything around middlewhich, holmes chapel or nantwich would be good.

Thanks in advance

shallowman

Shallowman,

The Byley Bridge section on the Dane is day ticket. I believe it is both banks downstream of Byley Bridge, all the way down to the next road Bridge (by the traffic tights at the Middlewich end of King's Street).

Tickets can be bought from Dave's of Middlewich or on the bank. Beware: tickets cost considerably more when bought on the bank.

Plenty of Chub n' Barbel in there to have a go at. The pollution incident a couple of years back was (I'm pretty sure) well downstream of this section.

Hope this helps.

Mike.

I hear the Irwell and Roch are throwing up some very impressive chubb up to the 4lb mark and in good numbers with the odd monster (maybe carp) between Bury and Radcliffe.
