My good self and Sir Incognito are off for a sneaky night this weekend.. as i am fat/lazy AND broke i am still not in any clubs...

Heard that this here lake Winterley maybe worth a bash but what is this i read about a strange phenomenon called a "Membership"

Can i fish this water without being in this "Elite Club"?

Not too sure what the crack is on there now it used to be 12 quid for 24hrs,I am sure someone will know as some lads have fished it recently.Its throwing a lot of fish up though some in the 20+ bracket so its a good bet for that milestone fish mate

I think you can help him get a few from winterley mike, its not too hard and the match pool is rammed some nice kois I saw last time i was up there

Winterley gets rammed at weekends pal, but is very nice and worth a bash in the week.

Extremely weedy in places tho

My main concern is this Membership mallarky... i aint paying a **** load of money just for 24hours...

Membership is £20 for the year. That reduces the cost of 24 hours from £25 to £15, and the cost of 48hrs from £35 to £25.

You can book pegs if you're a member. The last time I went, about a month ago it had 35 members and they're allowing 50.

Ring the bailif, and ask if it's looking busy for the weekend. PM me if you want his number.


As for tactics, anything fished tight to the snags will work, singles and stringers, or small sticks will do the trick.

If you're not used to snag fishing, it's not the best place to take someone to learn, as it is the snaggiest place I've seen. The swims are failry close together so you can have a social, but you have to be on your rods permanently obviously as you're fishing tight to snags.

I had 12 runs during daylight on the Saturday I was there, and not a twitch at night.
