Default Inappropriate pop ups/ads

I am getting some strange and inappropriate pop ups/ads whilst on the site including webcam ads with graphic details.I am sure that something is happening somewhere as nobody else seems to be reporting this. Can any of the mods sort it out as my antivirus/spyware software isnt doing a thing...

hi deano

what antivirus -adaware - software are you using mate ?????

also have you visited any sites where these popups may have originated from ?? tbh it sounds like something slipped in passed your antivirus etc etc !!! try running your software again but make sure you have system restore switched off as many of these nasties are reinstalled each time you boot up your pc

giz a shout if you need any more help matey !!

Hi Mate,

Would say it’s linked to other sites you may have visited rather than anything connected to NWC, just as easily they could have been embedded in a file or attachment you have opened or downloaded recently.

In the first instance, it might be an idea to cut and paste the text you are getting on the pop-ups into Google – enter it into the ‘with the exact phrase’ box on the advanced search options. This will often bring up threads on techy forums where others have had problems with the same pop-ups and with luck there might be info on how to remove them.

As for AV and Firewalls, I’m running Zone Alarm and NOD32 – both of which seem to perform better on my PC than Norton ever did!

Wink

Bloomin’ek – few enough click on the ads to pay for the upkeep of the site as it is – don’t put them off altogether!

That said, let me know what the domain was and I’ll see if there is someway of reporting it to Google.

Cheers…

J
