I haven't fished it, i was looking at it last season, i think the council must run it because the membership is ran from the wardens hut, you can do day ticket from memory it was about £3 if you pay at the hut & £5 if they have to collect it off you on the bank, or you can join for the year i think it was about £40 ish to be able to fish nights

there was talk of a club taking it over but i don't think thats happened yet

it does look like a lovely lake, plenty of room and a decent sized island at either end, the only thing that put me off was the safety aspect which is why i was asking Ringo what its like on there

ok a little history you can fish chorlton as from 1st may it is in a day ticket or 20 quid a year for a permit allowing night fishing 2HOWEVER " i would strongly recomend not nighting as there have been tackle thefts for the past 12 years allthough the wardens talk it down it is very dangerous at night a diffrent story in the day time as there are lots of familys and clubs using the place as its a "health walking " place god these health nuts are every where bloody gillian mckieths ok the fish around a dozen or so 20"s to high figures and big scale the 1 ine the pic that looks like im knacked "i wasnt honest that was my first session on there and i had a 20 over night and big scale the next morn " so i took a dive in the lake to celebrate on it hitting the net after taking a walk round the other day im told by the wardens that over the past 10 years the carp have taken over the lake and it is teaming with them i saw around 250 being stocked when i last fished regular on there 10/12 years ago and within months these went from 5/6 pound fish to double figures it is a very rich gravel pit bait wise i used frank warwicks fish meal mix with salmon egg oil and a fruit or chocolate flavour i caught regular allthough a lot of guys did have blank weekends so to sum up a good water allthough a litle dodgy fish near to the car park end in the daytme if you can hit the long chuck over to the island your laughing allthough all my fish camre from open water on stringers fished on 1 of the many gravel bars alittle plumb around and there easy to find hope this helps
