This has to be the cause of more fish damage than at any other time !
The main problem being that most digital cameras only allow a maximum of 10 seconds..................causing the angler to have to rush things. Usually at the expense of the fishes welfare. This is nowhere near enough time to get back to the fish, lift, position and get a decent face on you.The best thing is to get an air release system for your camera, this can be placed under your foot. And operated with slight pressure. If i have no other choice i would prefer to just take the picture with the fish on the mat.............. The other reasonable option is to leave the fish in the net (or sack it up where allowed) secure it and go find the nearest angler.............hoping he/shes a decent chap and will come and do the honours for you..................... Better than that is to have a mate 'on call' to come out and meet u to take the pics Personally im very lucky, i have two mates who will drive the 55miles for me for a foto shoot
