Or better still, the CANON A630
A larger 2.5" flip round screen on this one. It's a bargain here, make them an offer, if you don't win, they will probably offer you one at the price you bid anyway. Canon Outlet: Digital PowerShot A630 (Refurbished) on eBay, also, Digital Cameras, Photography (end time 21-Aug-08 16:32:11 BST)

LOL .... one thing i would say is if your cam has the facility to take pics in J-peg and raw use this setting so if your pics come out crap (exposure wise ) you can have them tweeked to how they should have been you will be amazed at what you can do with a raw file and some good software. |

I use the Digital photo profesional which came with my 5d, it is quite easy to use once you get the hang of it just have a play and learn as you do. Last edited by bobbins; 21-08-2008 at 07:58 PM. |

A jpeg will lose information every time it's opened, worked on and saved. Every time it's re-saved, it's compressed - so more information is thrown away. Those missing details have to be "made up" - or "Interpolated" somehow( which means you lose some of the fine detail). The software you use will do its best to get it right, but the more times you re-save, the more you lose. But when shot in raw you lose nothing and have lots of control over correcting bad exsposure and white balance so even if you are not competant with the software you can take it to someone who is and have your pics correctly exsposed and balanced, they say a j-peg is a loss file and a raw is a lossless file, so if you have the facility to shoot in j-peg and raw at the same time that is the best setting as the j-pegs are good for putting on websites and forums etc as they are much easier and user friendly and the raw files for making prints of at a profesional quality. if you can get one a canon g4/ g5/ g6 they have a flip round screen a remote for self takes and they work wonders for night time shots they also have a raw file setting allowing you to edit the photo your self but would sugest using this mode for day time shots, ive owend all 3 of these cameras and still use the g5 and g6 they also have a adapter on the top for a flash canon which is basicaly a big flash that eluminates the background even more. these cameras popup on ebay quite alot and on here also and are verey cheap
![]() heres a g5 for £63.50 buy now on ebay Item number: 120297107490 just copy and paste the item number

The sensor ( the part that the picture is exposed onto which has replaced the old film we used to use) on a camera with 10,000 pixels has on its surface 10,000 little tiles that are light sensitive, when you take a picture with your camera the image which comes through the lens is projected onto its surface which it then reproduces via some software in your cam and converts it into a picture now here comes the difference between Raw and j-Peg files , when the camera is set to take pics in j-peg the sensor doesn't use all the 10,000 tiles so it has to guess for the ones not being used which means you are not using the 10,000 pixels you thought you were, add to that every time you open, save or edit a jpeg file you loose even more information because it is compressed when it is saved. Now a picture taken in Raw uses all the tiles on the sensor so you have true representation of what you shot and not an edited version like the j-peg, plus when you start editing it it doesn’t loose any quality due to the file not being compressed when it is saved.
