Default Aeration

After having problems with my pond I decided to add extra air to it and got a spindrifter to use with my airpump. I was really surprised at the difference it made to the fish, they are so much more active now
Do any of you guys have a similar setup and if so .... do you leave it on through winter? As it causes so much surface movement I thought it would be ideal to prevent the pond from freezing but am a little worried about it cooling the pond more than usual, I could move the diffuser onto one of the shelves till spring but aren't sure if it would make that much difference.

i have air been pumped into my pond all year around. The cooling of the water seems to be very slight so i wouldn't worry about it to much. But you can turn it off as there naturally more oxygen in the water throughout the winter time and the fish dont need as much anyway due to them been alot slower. but you may need it if u have a high stock density.
