Thumbs up

I have a pond matey its approx 18ft x 16.5ft x 4 ish ft deep.
Its undergone some renovations this year due to the water getting contaminated with soil during the bad weather, I had to fully drain and clean and raise the edges to prevent it from happening again. It was like starting over from scratch .... I had new pond syndrome to deal with again I lost alot of the smaller fish from last years spawning, which gutted me after growing them on indoors last winter. Theres approx 20 fish in now varying in size from 4" to 20" mostly ghosties, a few koi and the rest mirrors
I've started a stream that will flow down the garden via falls, then into the pond, hopefully it will be sorted by Spring Then all there is to do is lay slabs around to finish it off
I'll sort some pics and put them up.

i've got one thats 16'x8x4 deep.i had a major problem about two months ago.i got up for work one morning, looked out of the window to see about two inches of water.the liner had split on a seam.i lost 10 fish ranging from a small rudd to a 9 lb ghost koi.the worst part was that i had bought 8 fish two days before and lost 4 of them.when i worked out the cost it made me sick.i spent £ 1200 in eight days.this was my second fish kill this year.

Gutted for you matey
While I was cleaning the pond my fish were in a temporary pool on the lawn, the pond had been refilled and treated after a couple of weeks I had no choice but to move them back into the main pool as the water quality in the temp home was taking a turn for the worse.
The night they went back in the fish were freaking out and some leapt out of the pond, I lost two grass carp but managed to revive 3 others.
My other losses started when I got back from a few days away and there was a fungal outbreak, I lost 20 small fish to it, they seemed to be reponding to the treatment I put in but all who had it went belly up over a spell of a fortnight.

anyone who is thinking of a garden pond should just go for it.its hard work to begin with and you have the odd setback along the way but its well worth it.on a warm summer evening if your not on the bank this is the next best thing.other people can enjoy it too if you have a bbq or house party.i could'nt imagine our garden without one now.
