Pond Vacuum cleaner???

I have a pond with a good three to five inches of **** at the bottom.

I have thought about ladling it out but I am worried I might puncture or damage the liner.
So has anyone used a pond vacuum cleaner – do they work? Are they any good or should I get the ladle out & scoop the poop out?

I have a oase pondovac 3 matey, great bit of kit. Best done regulary come to think of it mines overdue but may wait till the leaf falls over

whats the best one & whats the advantage of the more expensive cleaner

The pondvac 3 has 2 chambers when one fills it automatically switches over to the empty tank and simultainiously drains the other, which means continuous cleaning....very clever and a big time saver.Comes with all manner of attachments and hoses for the deepest of ponds and has a 5 yr guarantee. If its something you are going to use on a regular basis I would seriously consider one, after looking at quite a few on the market the cheaper models didn't seem suitable for a pond of my size...I highly recommend it well worth the cash matey.
My liner is butyll rubber was a little worried at first but as long as you dont go at it like a bull in a china shop, I wouldn't have thought using one would cause any problems.

Shop around online matey can remember there being a quite a price difference between stores, fleebay may be worth checking out too
