CK, if you like your early 70's american excess...check out the hair bear bunch..eerrrr MC5..from the days when synchronised guitar virtuosity was OK

YouTube - MC5 - Kick Out The Jams

Not into covers versions in general but seem to remember The Presidents of The USA did a half decent version one time.

No Fun is a great track by The Stooges - also the 10 minute long track off same album has a 'charm' to it in certain situations....

The new radiohead album - 7/10 I suppose. Every album since Kid A has got less and less experimental disappointingly - still a great band though.

For people into Marley but wanting a new(ish) take on his stuff try GrooveCorporation - remixes from elephant house, bill laswells ambient translations lp or the very new roots, rock remixed. All decent remixes - especially STHUR's don't rock my boat (reminds me of Xmas, in a good way, for some reason!)and Fort Knox Five's duppy conquerer.

May have mentioned before, but the solid steel mixes by the likes of dj food, scruff, hextatic etc are superb - most recent now listen again by dj food and dk has got played almost to death already in my car. Diverse isn't the word, tracks range from pendulum to 'are you being served theme', to rare soul. Great use of megablast accapella aswell for nerdy types.....
